Purpose and Awards Available:

 

Dr. DerKazarian spent some of his time as a professor at Boston University, teaching Periodontics. Because of this, we felt it was important to support students and their endeavors in higher education. We felt that the best way to do this was through a scholarship program!

 

One student will be selected to receive a total award of $10,000. 

 

Requirements for Application:

 

In order to apply for our scholarship, the following requirements must be met:

 

• The applicant must have a cumulative college GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

• The applicant must be attending college upon the application deadline. 

• The applicant must demonstrate financial need. 

• The applicant must be a Massachusetts resident.

• The applicant must provide proof of attendance at a 4 year college or university. 

 

 Application Process:

 

To be considered for this scholarship, the student must provide:

 

• A cumulative high school transcript

• A 300-word essay answering one of the following prompts:

 

Since our foundation is a family-run foundation, we invite you to talk about how a person in your life (family member, friend, teacher, etc.) has changed the course of your life. 

 

Our foundation often focuses on local efforts in Belmont; tell us about a time that you helped your community and what difference it made for you and the community around you.

 

Armenian culture is a very important pillar in our foundation; use this space to talk about how your culture or background impacted your life.

 

Use this space to talk about your plans for the future. What are some of the things you hope to achieve in college or beyond?  

 

• Any extracurricular or job experience the student may have 

• A statement of financial need. 

• Proof of attendance to a 4 year college or university.
