Alan K. & Isabelle DerKazarian Foundation 2026 High School and College Scholarship

Overview
One of the pillars of our foundation is supporting causes relating to the education of those in our community. Because of this, we are happy to announce the continuation of our annual scholarship program. We would like to dedicate this scholarship program to Dr. Alan DerKazarian, professor of periodontics at Boston University.
Scholarship Specifics
Our foundation will award three current high school seniors, graduating in spring 2026, and 3 current undergraduates graduating after spring 2026 with a scholarship amounting to $10,000.
In order to be eligible for this opportunity, you must fufill the following
requirements:

Be enrolled in a Massachusetts High School in your senior year or be a college student (Not required to be from or in Massachusetts for College applicants).

Have earned a cumulitive GPA of 2.5 or higher in your coursework

Demonstrate some form of financial need

Proof of enrollment to an accredited 4 year college or university if chosen for the award
Applicants will be asked to provide the following:

A full copy of their transcript

A resume
-
A statement of financial need

A response to the following prompt: In 500 words or less, reflect on a passion that is important to you, what motivates you to succeed, and why you have chosen to pursue a college education. This question is intentionally open-ended, so focus on sharing your personal journey, goals, and the reasons behind your chosen path.
After all applications are carefully reviewed, a select pool of finalists will be selected to conduct a short interview regarding their application. The winners will be selected after all interviews are complete and the committee has deliberated.

Receiving this scholarship is contingent upon your attendance at a 4 year college or university. If selected for this scholarship, you will be required to send your verification of enrollment to a University to us at jacobhaerer@derkazarianfoundation.org. If selected, the next phase of this scholarship includes an interview process. Please keep an eye out for an email detailing this. You will receive the total award in the spring 2026 academic semester if and only if you remain in good academic standing and remain enrolled in university.
